South African Airways Adds CyberSource
to Its Anti-fraud Arsenal

JOHANNESBURG, RSA, READING, UK, and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., USA — 29 September, 2009

CyberSource Ltd., the UK-based subsidiary of CyberSource Corporation (NASDAQ: CYBS), today announced an agreement in which South African Airways (SAA) will use CyberSource solutions in its anti-fraud efforts. The airline has selected Decision Manager, CyberSource’s global fraud management portal, as well as Performance Monitoring, a CyberSource managed risk service that provides fraud system analysis and monitoring services.

Mike Re, Chief Information Officer at SAA, said, “One of the reasons we have chosen to implement this leading fraud prevention technology is to provide peace of mind to our loyal customers when they make reservations online. We would like our customers to know that we are taking a proactive approach in combating credit card fraud.”

CyberSource’s Decision Manager portal provides access to over 150 global validation tests and services, all of which will be managed by SAA through a sophisticated but easy-to-use rules console. The system, equipped with business rules set by the airline, assesses transactions in seconds with a recommendation to accept, reject or mark for further review, minimising the need for human intervention.

As part of the Performance Monitoring service, CyberSource experts design and configure order screening strategies and processes in conjunction with South African Airways’ experts. After the implementation of Decision Manager, CyberSource fraud analysts monitor business performance and work with SAA to fine-tune rules, systems, and processes for optimum results.

Simon Stokes, Managing Director at CyberSource Ltd., said, “From our commissioned research, we know airlines worldwide lost over $1.4 billion to online fraudsters in 2008. By working with CyberSource, SAA will be able to adopt a more automated, holistic approach to fraud management to address this expensive threat.” For more information on CyberSource fraud management solutions, see:

About South African Airways
SAA celebrates its 75th Anniversary in 2009 and is one of the oldest airlines in the world. The airline was founded on 1 February 1934 after the South African government took over the assets and liabilities of Union Airways, which up until then operated as an air mail service. It was named South African Airways and fell under the administration of the South African Railways and Harbours.

SAA is one of the leading carriers in Africa offering over 20 destinations across the continent, as well as major destinations within South Africa, including its hub, Johannesburg. SAA operates one of the most technologically advanced aircraft fleets in the world and offers an exclusive and highly rated product. SAA’s priority is to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew and therefore places immense focus on maintenance of its aircraft.
